The Special F/X gallery is an innovative way for you to manipulate your graphics. Dragging an "effect" on to your object will alter the object in accordance with the name of the effect. For example, if you drag ROTATE onto your picture, the graphic will automatically rotate 90 degrees.
Be sure to check out our design suggestions and tips that we have provided later in the manual. These suggestions are a great way to get you started in the area of creative graphic design. Try a few out and soon you will be discovering new ways to make your graphics unique and creating stunning Web pages!
Note: When you add a Special FX to a text object it becomes a graphic. When you add a Special FX to a graphic it loses any transparent settings you may have applied to it previously.
PHOTO CORRECT WIZARD: Drag the camera icon onto a photo or graphic and the Photo Correct Wizard will appear.
Read the introduction and click Next. You will be presented with two options.
1. To "auto correct" the image click on Give it a Try. If you like the results, click Next until the dialog box disappears. If you are unhappy with the results, click Undo.
2. To manually edit the image click Next. A series of slider bars controlling different parts of the image, contrast, brightness, hue, etc. will be presented allowing you to manipulate the image.
At any time you may click Cancel to stop the editing process.
At any time you may click Back to reedit with a specific slider bar.
If you are unhappy with the effect after you have added it to your Web page, click Edit>Undo Special Effect.
This effect places a 3-D shadow behind the image. It is especially useful on text as well as rectangular shaped graphics. The effect works best when using light colored backgrounds.
This effect simulates what it would look like if the graphic or photo had been an oil painting.
This effect simulates what it would look like if the graphic or photo had been a Paint-by-Numbers painting.
This effect changes all the colors in the image. It can be applied multiple times and with different color combinations.
These patterns can be applied to graphics and text. For example, the brick pattern simulates the graphic having been painted on a brick wall.
Adds various effects to outside of the image or text. Effects here include torn paper, burnt paper, ripped edges, brush strokes and more.
This effect will lighten the text or graphic. You can apply it several times to the same object to increase the effect.
This effect will darken the text or graphic. You can apply it several times to the same object to increase the effect.
This effect will increase the contrast of the image. You can apply it several times to the same object to increase the effect.
This effect decreases the contrast of the image. You can apply it several times to the same object to increase the effect.
This effect rotates the image 90 degrees. You can apply this several times to rotate 90, 180, 270, and 360 degrees.
This effect reverses the image. This effect can also be called "mirror".
This effect flips the image upside down.
This effect allows you to determine an overall tint for the image by selecting a color from the Windows Color dialog.
This effect makes the object look like it was stamped in foil.
Adds the photographic effect called solarization. Some of the image will look normal and some will look like a negative.
This effect creates a photographic posterize effect with 2 colors. Reduces the "shades" in the image to simulate a poster.

This effect creates a photographic posterize effect with 4 colors. Reduces the "shades" in the image to simulate a poster.

Sharpens or increases the clarity of the image. Can be applied several times to the same object.
Enhances or highlights the edges of the objects in the image.
Replaces color tones with gray tones. In effect, it makes a black and white photo.
Changes light for dark and dark for light. Creates a negative color image.
Adds small colored dots to the object. Gives the image a grainy or weathered look effect.
